Neighbourhood walkabouts

Staff from our Neighbourhoods Team complete regular walkabouts in our local areas to identify and resolve issues.
Published: 10 February 2026

Our Neighbourhoods Team complete regular walkabouts in our neighbourhoods, which customers and our partner agencies can also join.

You can help us in our aim of inspiring people to build sustainable communities by joining us as we walk around your local neighbourhood to identify any relevant issues and areas for improvement. This could include issues within the neighbourhood such as repairs to communal areas or incidents of fly-tipping.

The walkabouts give you a chance to talk to staff from Blackpool Coastal Housing to discuss housing or local issues. It gives us an opportunity to listen to your views and act on them by identifying and managing these issues, and trying to find solutions which may involve residents and other agencies.

Your feedback matters

Our Neighbourhoods Team have recently carried out a number of neighbourhood walkabouts across the Blackpool area.

Thank you to those who joined us on the walkabouts, your involvement and feedback is appreciated.

Here's an update on some of the walkabouts that took place in January 2026:

Harvest Road, Harvest Court, Boundary Place, Grange Close

1 resident joined the Neighbourhood Officers along with a local Police Community Support Officer on this walkabout, where the following was raised:

  • A substantial amount of litter was found behind Boundary Place. This area is not managed by BCH and so the Neighbourhood Officer passed this through to Blackpool’s Waste Management service, Enveco, for removal.
  • Communal areas inside and surrounding Harvest Court were all found to be in excellent condition.
  • 1 property had a large, dumped item in the garden. The Neighbourhood Officer made direct contact and provided advice on Blackpool Council’s waste disposal services.
  • The Grounds Maintenance within the area was in good condition with no concerns raised.

Meyler Ave, Wembley Avenue, Highbury Avenue, Brooklyn Avenue

Neighbourhood Officers completed a walkabout in this area. Unfortunately, no residents attended, but officers noted the following:

  • 1 property was identified as having poor garden condition which is in breach of the Tenancy Agreement. The resident has been contacted directly and the matter is now being addressed.
  • Fly tipping was identified and reported to our contractors for removal. If you identify fly tipping, please report this to our Neighbourhoods Team for action to be taken.

 Red Bank Road, Sandhurst Avenue

1 resident joined the Neighbourhood Officers on this walkabout, where the following was raised:

  • Litter was found in both the front and rear communal garden areas of Red Bank Road. The Neighbourhood Officer arranged for partnering contractor, 5-AM Contract Cleaning, to attend and a litter pick was completed the following day.
  • A number of drains were noted as blocked; photos were taken and passed through to the Repairs Team. A specialised drainage contractor attended the following day to clear the drains and resolve the issue.
  • A resident explained at Sandhurst Avenue explained that the internal door was causing noise nuisance due to it being slammed shut. This has been raised with the Repairs Team who will assess the issue and contact any affected residents if a repair is required.
  • The external gates leading to the rear garden area were found to be broken. This was raised with the Repairs Team for inspection and repair.

Please check back regularly for further updates and more to follow on other areas!

If you have time to spare, please join us on our next round of inspections!

If there are any particular issues you'd like to discuss during the inspection, you can speak to us face to face while we're in the area.
