Paying your rent

Paying your rent by Direct Debit is the quickest and easiest way to pay your rent or other charges straight from your bank/building society account on a day of the month most convenient to you.

Direct debits can be set up over the phone without the need to fill in any paper forms. You can also request a paper Direct Debit form from us and return it to us at:

You can pay your rent and other charges by Standing Order weekly, fortnightly or every 4 weeks by setting up a payment arrangement from your bank.

You can request a copy of the Standing Order form and return it to us at:

You can pay your rent by debit or credit card at any of the following:

• An automated telephone payment service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 01253 478983
• Call Customer First on 01253 477477 (during working hours)
• Visit the payment kiosks located in the Customer First Centre, Blackpool Town Hall, Corporation Street

You can use a payment card to make payment at local post offices, the Town Hall or any shops with the PayPoint logo.

Housing Benefit can be paid directly to us whether you receive full or part benefit.

If you receive part Housing Benefit, you will need to pay the difference by any of the other methods which best suits you.

You may be entitled to get help with your Rent by applying for Universal Credit. You can check this by completing a Turn2us Benefits Calculator.

Universal Credit can be paid directly to the tenant or directly to BCH and you may receive full or partial benefit. Contact the Rents team on 01253 477900 Option 1 or rent@bch.co.uk to ask about more information

You can pay your rent by cheque or postal order. Payments should be made payable to Blackpool Council and be sent to:

PO Box 50,

Blackpool,

FY1 1NF.

You should write your address and rent account number on the back and ensure your cheque is crossed with the words Account Payee.

Post-dated cheques cannot be accepted.

Please note, if you require a receipt you must request one with the payment.
