Tackling Climate Change: our commitment

Blackpool Council declared a climate emergency on 26 June 2019. In doing this, they recognised the impact of climate change around the world and declared that we must take action in Blackpool.

We are committed to helping make the council’s carbon emissions net zero and using 100% clean energy across the council’s services by 2030.

The council is responsible for 3% of the total carbon emissions in Blackpool and as a main provider of housing in the town, we need to work with residents and partners to make a real change.

A climate action plan for the council and the town has been prepared and sets out how the council and town can aim for net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
