Gas Servicing

Blackpool Coastal Housing has a legal responsibility to carry out a gas safety check in your home every 12 months.  It is also a condition of your tenancy agreement to allow us access to carry out the work. 

We appreciate that not everyone uses their gas appliances, however we still need to check and maintain any associated pipe work. 

If you have a gas cooker it is your responsibility to have this serviced and maintained as we will only inspect the pipe the cooker is attached to.          

Are You A New BCH Customer?

If you are a new BCH customer ,why not book a one to one energy advice session with one of our contractors Read and Errington.  You can book this at the same time as arranging your gas test and turn on.  

Remember to take a meter reading in your new home as soon as you are given the keys. This way you will avoid paying someone else's bill.  We cannot advise you on which energy supplier to choose, however you can contact Citizens Advice Consumer Direct on 0845 404 0506 for more information.    

Read and Errington Gas Contractor

BCH works in partnership with Read and Errington - a dedicated Gas Safe registered company, to ensure your home receives an annual gas safety check and any other gas related repairs.  As a partnering contractor Read and Errington employees will ensure they have both employee identification along with a Gas Safe Register ID card.             

Being Gas Safe

Please make sure that you report any faults on any of your gas appliances or pipe work to us immediately.   If you smell gas please contact TRANSCO on 0800 111 999 and see the link for advice.
