Scheme Managers usually work Monday to Friday from 8am until 4:30pm. 

Their duties include:

  • Helping newcomers to settle in and explain how everything works, including Support Plans. 
  • Making regular contact with tenants as agreed in their individual Support Plan.
  • Providing general counselling and support accessing any services relevant to tenants needs.
  • Assisting tenants to apply for housing benefit and council tax, welfare grants or loans.
  • Referring tenants to Social Services for assessment, equipment and adaptations if required.
  • Contacting relatives and calling a doctor or ambulance in an emergency.
  • Being responsible for helping to develop the community within their Scheme and will facilitate Scheme activities.
  • Assist in finding solutions to neighbourhood problems
  • Work with the local Police to create safe and secure neighbourhoods 

The Scheme Manager DOES NOT:

  • Collect pensions, prescriptions or do shopping.
  • Have responsibilities for tenant's finances.
  • Provide care.
  • Administer medication.
